First Lady Melania Trump announced Friday on X that she has launched a new production company called Muse Films and that her upcoming feature film, titled “Melania,” is scheduled for worldwide theatrical release on Jan. 30, 2026. The film is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and directed by Brett Ratner, Newsmax reported.
The project will offer a behind-the-scenes look at Trump’s life with a focus on the 20-day period leading up to her husband’s 2025 presidential inauguration.
The film is described as an intimate, first-person account of her role during the transition, combining personal history, public responsibilities, and family life.
Amazon MGM said the feature will stream on Amazon Prime Video after its theatrical run.
“Step inside Melania Trump’s world as she orchestrates inauguration plans, navigates the complexities of the White House transition, and reenters public life with her family,” Amazon MGM wrote on X last month.
The studio said the film includes “exclusive footage capturing critical meetings, private conversations, and never-before-seen environments” and that “MELANIA showcases Mrs. Trump’s return to one of the world’s most powerful roles.”
Amazon has also approved a three-part docuseries that will expand on Trump’s experiences and follow her activities in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Palm Beach.
Trump’s announcement on Friday formally placed the film under her new production banner as she reintroduces herself to the public as both first lady and media producer.
In addition to being the subject of the project, Trump served as an executive producer on the film, giving her a direct role in shaping the narrative.
Ratner is known for directing the “Rush Hour” films and “X-Men: The Last Stand.” The report said “Melania” is his first major studio film since 2017.
His involvement follows multiple sexual-misconduct allegations that surfaced during the #MeToo movement and led to major studios distancing themselves from him.
In January, Amazon Prime has secured exclusive global rights to a documentary film that will offer an “unprecedented behind-the-scenes look” at Melania Trump’s life, Fox News Digital confirmed. The documentary is slated for global theatrical and streaming release in months.
Filming for the documentary began in December 2024. Melania and Fernando Sulichin of New Element Media will executive produce it, and Brett Ratner of RatPac Entertainment will direct it.
Prime Video is expected to provide more details about the project as filming progresses and will announce its plans once they are finalized, according to Fox News Digital.
“We are excited to share this truly unique story with our millions of customers around the world,” an Amazon spokesperson said in a statement.
The announcement came just weeks before Mrs. Trump’s return to the White House as the First Lady of the United States.
It also followed the release of her first-ever book, Melania, several months prior. The memoir offers an intimate look at Melania Trump, featuring personal stories and family photos that she had not previously shared with the public.
Since its release to the public, the memoir has been at the top of the New York Times’ best-selling list.
In November, just days after President Trump was elected the 47th President of the United States, Mrs. Trump launched a digital photography series to showcase her life on the 2024 campaign trail and at home.
In an interview with Fox News Digital last year, Melania shared that if she had the privilege of serving as First Lady again—beginning January 20, 2025—she would continue to focus on initiatives aimed at the well-being and development of children, ensuring they have the “support and resources they need to reach their full potential.”
“My focus would continue to be creating a safe and nurturing space for children to learn, grow and thrive,” she said.
