Gavin Newsom Just Made One Gigantic Political Mistake

California Gov. Gavin Newsom can’t seem to mind his own collapsing backyard. Homeless camps, rising crime, and sky-high taxes are strangling the Golden State after decades of Democrat misrule — yet Newsom is too busy wagging his finger at red states to notice the disaster he’s presiding over. Instead of fixing California’s mess, he’s made it a hobby to meddle in Republicans’ business.

Newsom’s been at this game for years — playing the role of Joe Biden’s “backup plan” by picking fights with red-state governors. His favorite target? Florida’s Ron DeSantis.

But that stunt blew up in his face. In their November 2023 showdown, DeSantis flattened Newsom so thoroughly that his wife — or “first partner,” as she insists on being called — practically dragged him offstage the moment his time was up. The humiliation was so bad, even Democrats had to admit Newsom looked like a lightweight.

And now, as if California’s disasters weren’t enough, Newsom is out peddling Prop. 50 — a “temporary” (yeah, right) scheme to kill off his state’s independent redistricting commission just because Texas dared to draw their own maps.

But he’s not stopping there. Newsom’s now poking his nose into North Carolina politics, jumping on a flimsy, thinly sourced “report” claiming longtime GOP Senate boss Phil Berger cut a deal with Trump for a 2026 endorsement in exchange for redrawing the maps. It’s classic Newsom — meddling in other states while his own is circling the drain:

CBS 17 is just the latest of many North Carolina outlets caught carrying water for the Democrats. Their so-called “reporting” on this was no different — built on anonymous whispers and mystery “sources” that gave the story about as much credibility as a campaign ad.

“Top Republican North Carolina state Senator Phil Berger is expected to accept an endorsement from President Donald Trump in his 2026 primary challenge in exchange for redrawing congressional maps, several sources told CBS 17 on Thursday,” the outlet claims.

“Several” sources? Please. Odds are it was just one — the left-wing outfit Carolina Forward, which loves to parade around as “non-partisan” and “independent” when everyone knows it’s neither. Funny thing: they blasted out a tweet about their so-called “source” long before CBS 17 ever published with the story.

Berger isn’t exactly the guy you want to pick a fight with. He swatted down the quid pro quo rumors but also made it clear that if it meant beating back Newsom’s political games, he’d happily redraw the maps — and he’s got plenty of practice, thanks to Democrats’ endless “sue ’til blue” lawsuits.

“If we have to draw one more map this year, we will. That said, I’ve never spoken to President Trump about this or an endorsement. The Democrats are spreading lies to hurt President Trump,” he said.

At the end of the day, it’s tough to tell who looks worse here — North Carolina’s media, churning out fake news like it’s their side hustle, or Gavin Newsom, who won’t say a word about the quid pro quo whispers swirling around Democrat “leaders” in his own backyard tied to Prop 50.
