President Donald Trump has appointed a longtime ally and assistant to a key post within his administration.

Before entering politics, he spent more than a decade at Trump National Golf Club Westchester, where he rose to the position of executive vice president.

Within the Trump administration, Scavino served as White House director of social media and later as senior advisor for digital strategy from 2019 to 2021. In Trump’s current administration, he holds the role of White House deputy chief of staff for communications, giving him significant influence over both messaging and internal operations.

According to Bloomberg, Scavino has remained one of Trump’s most loyal allies through some of the most turbulent periods of his political career. Scavino has remained a close ally of President Donald Trump through some of the most turbulent periods of his presidency, including both impeachment proceedings and the events of January 6.

He also played a prominent role in advising Trump during the 2024 presidential campaign, further cementing his standing as a trusted figure within the administration. Earlier Tuesday, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt praised the appointment of Scavino.

“Dan Scavino is one of President Trump’s most trusted and longest serving advisors,” she said. “There is nobody better to ensure the president’s administration is staffed with the most qualified, competent, and America First-driven workers.”
