Good-Bye For Good, Majorie Taylor Greene: She Just Burned the MAGA Bridge

Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene criticized the Trump administration and the MAGA movement, declaring that it was “all a lie.”

In a recent interview with podcaster Kim Iversen, Greene expressed her frustration with President Donald Trump, accusing him of neglecting the economic struggles that everyday Americans are facing.

“MAGA is, I think, people are realizing, it was all a lie. It was a big lie for the people,” Greene said.

Greene, who stepped down from Congress in January leaving the GOP with an even smaller majority, claimed that the Trump administration was more focused on pleasing wealthy donors who contributed to Trump’s political action committees and personal projects, such as his $250 million ballroom at the White House, rather than addressing the needs of everyday Americans.

Guess Marge hasn’t seen the falling gasoline, food, and rent prices.

Greene, apparently, has forgotten that it takes an incredible amount of money – good or bad – to get elected president.

“Those are the people that get the special favors, they get the government contracts, they get the pardons,” Greene said.

“I worry about the future that my children, who are Gen Z, will never be able to afford,” Greene continued. “That whole generation, they probably won’t be able to buy a house. They can’t afford health insurance, they can’t afford car insurance. Most of their jobs are gonna be replaced by AI. That’s the stuff I care about.”

Marjorie Taylor Greene’s split from Trump and the America First movement began in November 2025 when she signed a bipartisan discharge petition aimed at prompting the Justice Department to release the Epstein files. In response, Trump dubbed her a “traitor” and pulled his endorsement. Shortly after, Greene announced her resignation.

The president told reporters that the former congresswoman “has lost her way” and accused her of “catering to the other side.”

Greene has often criticized Trump for focusing on foreign policy. Trump defended his actions, pointing out that “my job as president has to be about the world, not just about local.”

Nevertheless, Greene has not backed down. “We’ve got civil war practically breaking out in Minnesota. Can we not care about that?” she said during the interview with Iversen. She also expressed her disapproval of Trump’s threatening rhetoric towards Iran and his military actions in Venezuela.

“No one cares about the foreign countries. No one cares about the never-ending amount of foreign leaders coming to the White House every single week,” Greene told NBC News.

A significant portion of Greene’s critique has focused on the economy. She argues that the president is out of touch with the everyday experiences of average Americans.

“President Trump is a billionaire and the president of the United States. When he speaks to the camera and claims affordability is a hoax while downplaying inflation, he is addressing Americans who are struggling,” Greene said in December 2025. She cautioned that Trump’s assertion, which dismisses people’s concerns about economic issues as a “Democrat hoax,” could jeopardize the Republicans’ chances of retaining the House in the 2026 midterm elections.

So the bottom line is this: If there was even a modicum of hope that MTG could rekindle with Trump and reconnect to his still substantial MAGA base, we can pretty much deduce, with this interview, she just torched that bridge.
