Gavin Newsom Facing Fury After Comment About Vance’s Children

California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom — the probable leading candidate for the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination — is facing backlash due to a social media post in which he criticized Vice President J.D. Vance’s family during their vacation at Disneyland in California.

As reported by the Orange County Register, upon the arrival of Vice President Vance, his wife Usha, and their young children at the famous theme park, approximately 100 communist protesters assembled outside to mock the family. Additional protests, primarily by older women, took place in Anaheim while the family was vacationing in the area.

On Saturday, a small crowd gathered outside the Grand Californian Hotel, located near the park and where Vance is believed to be staying, according to local news outlet KTLA. During the typical anti-Trump demonstrations, a few protesters waved Mexican flags.

Although the visit was not politically motivated, some local Democratic officials urged their supporters to confront the Vance family during their holiday.

“I’m offended by the visit,” stated Orange County Supervisor Vicente Sarmiento to KTLA. “So many families are being terrorized by the federal government’s policies.”

California Governor Gavin Newsom echoed this sentiment, tweeting a critique of the family to his 2.3 million followers on X.

“Hope you enjoy your family time, @JDVance. The families you’re tearing apart certainly won’t,” Newsom wrote from his official government account.

The liberal assertion that “families are being torn apart” seems to pertain to the immigration enforcement raid that took place on Thursday in nearby Ventura County, where a large contingent of federal agents executed an operation at a cannabis farm. During this operation, several minors who had been compelled to harvest marijuana on the premises were rescued.

Among the 300 undocumented immigrants apprehended during the operation at Glass House Farms was an unnamed individual with a record of violent and sexual offenses, including attempted child exploitation.

“This undocumented immigrant was captured at the California marijuana facility,” Border Patrol Commissioner Rodney Scott stated on X, along with a photograph of the offender.

“It turns out he had received a 7-year sentence for kidnapping and attempted rape, with a previous conviction for attempted child molestation. This felon was employed at the same farm as 10 children, one of whom was just 14 years old.”

Governor Newsom’s post, while praised by the far left, has predominantly sparked criticism on social media.

“He’s not sending your underage illegal alien indentured servants back to work on your donor’s cannabis farm, if that’s what you’re implying,” remarked conservative attorney and activist Will Chamberlain.

“You have been enabling child trafficking for forced labor, Newscum,” added independent legal analyst Viva Frei. “You have some audacity to attempt to shame JD Vance for being a father.”

In a post on X, Department of Homeland Security spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin provided evidence, highlighting that Newsom is advocating for undocumented immigrants who are sought for committing violent crimes.

“Children fleeing from tear gas, sobbing on the phone because their mother was just taken from the fields. Trump refers to me as ‘Newscum’ — but he is the true scum,” Newsom initially posted on the platform, which included a video showing several individuals seemingly escaping from ICE and border agents who used tear gas to disperse protesters.

McLaughlin responded sharply: “These are the violent individuals that @GavinNewsom is defending: this criminal illegal immigrant was apprehended at the California marijuana facility. He received a 7-year sentence for KIDNAPPING and attempted RAPE. Additionally, he had a previous conviction for attempted child molestation. He was employed at the same farm as the 9 unaccompanied minors. This is utterly depraved.”

The operation led to violent confrontations with law enforcement and attracted several hundred protesters who appeared after the arrival of immigration agents, as reported by KTLA.

The immigration raids occurred simultaneously at approximately 8:30 a.m., targeting Glass House Farms in Camarillo and another facility located about 35 miles north in Carpinteria.

Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Rodney Scott announced on X that 10 undocumented minors were found at the Camarillo farm, which included eight unaccompanied children. He also mentioned that Glass House is currently under investigation for possible child labor violations.
