This authorization was issued after the president expressed on Truth Social that he was astonished to see “THUGS violently throwing rocks and bricks at ICE Officers while they were driving down a roadway in their vehicle.”
“Consequently, I am instructing Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, and Border Czar, Tom Homan, to direct all ICE, Homeland Security, or any other Law Enforcement Officer who is subjected to thrown rocks, bricks, or any other type of assault, to halt their vehicle and apprehend these SLIMEBALLS, utilizing whatever means necessary to accomplish this. I am providing Total Authorization for ICE to defend itself, just as they safeguard the Public.”
He further stated: “I never want to witness a vehicle carrying a Law Enforcement Officer being attacked again! AUTHORIZATION IMMEDIATELY GRANTED FOR ARREST AND INCARCERATION.”
Tensions have been rising in California in light of President Donald Trump’s stringent immigration policies, with protests and unrest breaking out across Los Angeles last month following a series of ICE deportation raids.
Protesters threw rocks at law enforcement and ignited vehicles as Trump ordered the deployment of over 4,000 National Guard troops and 700 Marines to the city, disregarding California Governor Gavin Newsom’s objections and sparking a contentious legal dispute over state versus federal authority.
Since that time, federal immigration agents have ramped up operations throughout Southern California, acting on Trump’s directive for ICE to utilize “all in their power” to carry out what he has characterized as the largest mass deportation campaign in American history, as noted by Newsweek.
Meanwhile, officials from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) are accusing Representative Salud Carbajal (D-CA) of inciting a violent mob of left-wing demonstrators who attacked a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent, resulting in the agent being sent to the emergency room, as reported by Breitbart News.
According to the Department of Homeland Security, on July 10, ICE agents executed a raid on a marijuana cultivation site in California, a sanctuary state, which led to the arrest of over 360 undocumented immigrants and the rescue of 14 migrant children.
During this operation, approximately 500 protesters attempted to obstruct the enforcement action. DHS officials allege that an ICE Public Affairs Specialist provided a business card to Representative Salud Carbajal (D-CA), who was present at the location. They contend that Carbajal made the agent a target by showing the card to the crowd.
Shortly thereafter, members of the mob assaulted the ICE agent, inflicting lacerations to his left hand from a rock thrown during the altercation. The agent was taken to the emergency room, where he required stitches for his injury.
“The actions of Representative Carbajal are unequivocally un-American. He has the audacity to assert that his conduct was merely congressional oversight, but doxing ICE personnel and inciting a mob of rioters to attack law enforcement is not oversight — it is reprehensible,” stated Tricia McLaughlin of DHS.
“His actions resulted in an ICE employee being sent to the emergency room. It is not surprising that ICE agents are experiencing a 700% increase in assaults when radical members of Congress like Salud Carbajal and [New Jersey Democratic Representative] LaMonica McIver are openly encouraging and leading their supporters in assaults against law enforcement,” she further remarked.
Last month, Representative LaMonica McIver (D-NJ) was charged by a federal grand jury after surveillance footage showed her aggressively entering an ICE detention facility located in Newark, New Jersey. She is facing allegations of forcibly obstructing and interfering with ICE agents who were trying to detain an undocumented immigrant outside the facility.
In the most recent round of immigration enforcement, ICE agents, with the assistance of National Guard troops, conducted raids at two Glass House Farms sites this week: one in Camarillo, Ventura County, and the other in Carpinteria, a coastal town in Santa Barbara County situated approximately 90 miles northwest of Los Angeles.
