Basketball fans are ripping on Chicago Sky star Angel Reese for turning down an interview for the new book about Caitlin Clark.
The rivalry between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese has been well-documented over the last two years. It all started when Reese infamously taunted Clark in the waning seconds of the 2023 women’s basketball national championship game, with the LSU Tigers defeating the Iowa Hawkeyes 102-85.
Clark flashed John Cena’s signature “You can’t see me” gesture to opponents leading up to the championship game. Reese used that same gesture and pointed to her finger (referencing a championship ring) as the clock expired.
Legendary USA Today sports columnist Christine Brennan wrote a book about the Indiana Fever star, On Her Game: Caitlin Clark and the Revolution in Women’s Sports, that was just published.
Per Jenna Lemoncelli of the New York Post, Brennan noted in one chapter that Angel Reese refused an interview for the new book:
“Through a spokeswoman, Reese declined several requests to comment for this book,” Brennan wrote.
Fans wasted no time criticizing Angel Reese over this:
“because angel reese is a loser,” a fan wrote.
“she was rebounding from a photo shoot,” joked another.
“She probably has great court vision,” a fan remarked.
Countless fans have accused Reese of holding “jealous” feelings toward Clark. But remember, the Chicago star told reporters during her 2024 rookie year that she was more than happy to embrace the villain role.

Unfortunately, Clark had to miss the last meeting between Chicago and Indiana with a quad injury. Despite her absence, the Fever crushed the Sky 79-52 at the United Center.
Fortunately, sports fans won’t have to wait too much longer for the next Clark-Reese showdown. The two teams are set to meet again in Chicago on July 27 (3:00 p.m. EST).
