“Can’t even tie his own shoes”: Mary Trump rips into uncle Donald as ‘cognitive decline’ fears grow

Mary Trump, a psychologist and the niece of former President Donald Trump, is once again in the news for her harsh criticism of her uncle’s conduct and mental fitness. In a recent episode of her YouTube series, Trump Trolls Trump, she refers to his current presidency as a “reign of idiocy,” cautioning that his mental decline seems to be quickening and becoming more perilous.

Referencing a segment from MSNBC’s The Weekend: Primetime, the conversation highlights concerns that Donald Trump may be plagued by the fear of cognitive decline, akin to what his father, Fred Trump Sr., faced due to Alzheimer’s disease. Mary, who wrote Too Much and Never Enough, asserts that her uncle exhibits signs of mental deterioration and emotional instability—concerns she has long raised.

She sharply criticized Trump’s recent public appearances, including his visit to a Florida immigration facility where he provided a disjointed, off-topic answer when posed with a straightforward question. Mary described the incident as yet another instance of his mental disarray and pointed out his failure to deliver clear responses. “He has the attention span of a toddler,” she remarked.

Mary also condemned Trump’s latest scheme—a $249 luxury perfume named “Victory,” marketed on Truth Social. She deemed the product not only ridiculous but profoundly unethical, stating that it is grotesque for a sitting president to gain financially from his position.

With sharp wit and clinical perspective, Mary Trump continues to establish herself as one of her uncle’s most ardent critics. Her remarks indicate a rising concern regarding his ability to lead, coupled with exasperation at the public’s ongoing acceptance of his behavior.
